1. Where is this door installed on ships?
It is fitted on bulkheads of the ship’s upper superstructure above the freeboard deck, such as accommodation areas, wheelhouse surroundings and engine room casing partitions. It serves for fire separation and blocks wind, rain and sea spray, and cannot be used below the waterline.
2. What is the difference between weathertight door and watertight door?
Weathertight doors only resist wind, rain and wave splashes without bearing hydrostatic pressure, for upper decks. Watertight doors can withstand fixed water pressure and are applied to underwater bulkheads.
3. What does A60 fire rating mean?
It complies with SOLAS FTP code; the door can insulate heat and block fire spread for 60 minutes to stop fire from spreading between the engine room and living quarters.
4. Can one person open and close the door conveniently?
Yes. Designed with a wheel quick-locking structure, single-person fast operation is realized to save onboard operation time.
5. Can I customize the size and opening direction?
Custom clear opening dimensions, left/right opening directions are all supported according to your vessel layout.
6. Can you provide ship classification society certificates?
We can apply for CCS classification certificates for formal orders.
7. How is the anti-corrosion performance at sea?
The door body is marine carbon steel with professional anti-rust coating; hinges and wheel fittings are stainless steel, delivering great salt spray resistance for long-term marine service.
